So kids.....it's time to plan us a pig roast.

CD and I waited to set the new date till we saw what the weather would be like around mid May. It was still a little to hit or miss for us, so we decided to set the date for a nice June wedding.

And so you have it.... June 12th 2010 - The Effin Pig Roast.

A couple of updates since we've last spoke.

* We are proud to have Grandma's Kitchen holding down the tunes!

**We requested Gov. Granholm marry us. We actually got the request to the Gov - however, she said she only does good friends. So...with that said I have less than a year to befriend Jennifer! :-) I'm going to ask one more time - and start thinking of Plan B's for the ceremony. Any ideas...send them my way.

***CD and I have finally figured out how we want to landscape the backyard. And we still have some time to get it done. So we'll be making a list and starting to knock out those projects little by little.

I think that's all of the planning things that are new and of fun value. I'm just excited we have another date. It should be fantastic. And I may need some help planning, so if anyone reading this wants to donate an hour or two to the big program, please feel free.

I'm very excited for this next year. I think CD and I have a decent handle on the biz, we are figuring out how to make time (take time) for ourselves, and it will be good to take a day, come together with all of our friends/family and really do this thing!

The Effin road block

Well....it's been a long time since I've sat down and wrote an effin post.

I can't begin to tell of the stress CD and I had in our final push to get Balance open on time and running. But we effin did it! YAY US!

We, however, learned quickly that with the business and all the politics that came with the buildout - we didn't have the time, money or energy to try and get the pig roast ready for May. It is a good solid relationship saving decsion to not and try to rush anything.

However, as May approaches we both are a little sad that the effin ceremony has been effin pushed for an effin year. But! And this is a good but. But, I think it's going to be great b/c we are going to have more time to get our yard ready, get our save the date cards out and save a little mula.

We haven't set the next date - we are going to wait to see how the weather for May is this year and then if we think it is warm enough we'll set for May next year if not, we'll push for a little further into the summer.

So I suppose this ends with a "Stand By" - the offiical date and planning will kick off again real soon. And in the mean time if we can get Amy home for a spell, we may jaunt over to Canada and see what it feels like to be effin legal!

IT'S STILL AN EFFIN PIG.

I'd like to take credit for that, however, I have to give credit to CD. I'm angry I didn't think of it, but happy I'm hitching up with a girl that did.

Over the weekend we happily stumbled upon the weddin ring. (B/c there is no huggie..no kissy till I get one)

It's crazy trying to keep up on wedding/business and politics. We should have just made November 4th the grand opening, wedding and taken time to vote. (I won't note that it is also the 4 year anniversary of my poppie's passing, b/c that brings the mood down, but like James says, "Thank you MSNBC for having a running countdown to our memorial)

And back to a positive flair......

We got the place to do the pig roast, we have the menu set, Maria is lending us her huge crock to make beans in and the save the date cards are close to being ready to go.

Rough effin draft..

Also we may have found the place to host the roast! Well to roast the heifer! hee hee....

We are working out the kinks, put our final list together last night and will be working on compiling addys pretty soon!

Our lovely neighbor has offered us her beautiful backyard to host the nuptial portion, and we are thinking of taking her up on it. It's across the street and very very nice. So thinking through all options.

SAVE THE EFFIN DATE

I spoke with me mom today and the save the date cards are back on the plate! I'd taken a little step back from thinking about the weddin' to focus on the business. However, May will be here SOONER than one thinks and I want to make sure everything is going along smoothly.

This time off of work is supposed to be equal parts getting Balance up and running and equal parts getting the house/yard in order for next year. I'm happy to report I am in fact striking a good balance of the two.

I've done most of the landscaping work I wanted to accomplish in the front yard, and after the effin garage sale this weekend, we should be in a good place to get paint inside the house and make time to landscape the back. YAY!

That's all. Just a little update to keep me focused while we move in 15 different directions.

We got the rings this weekend. YAY! It was a perfect weekend. Simply amazing.

I had the time of my life with the love of my life and I couldn't ask for anything more.

Tonight we have our official engagement dinner. I didn't know I could be so nervous and excited for something we've talked about for months.

We are less than a year to our big day! haha....we are so excited.

I'll grab CD some night and we'll put down the official "EFFIN PIG ROAST" blog, complete with details on the event and what everyone can look forward to.
